该剧反映，1933年8月5日和9月3日，为响应党和苏维埃政府的号召，继续扩大红军，壮大武装力量，粉碎敌人的第五次"围剿"，中央红军先后在博生县（如今的江西宁都县）组建了一支全部由模范青少年组成的特殊部队——"少共国际师"，该师被授予中国工农红军第十五师番号。这支10000余人的年轻部队，当时平均年龄不足18岁，是一支人类历史上绝无仅有的，全部由少男少女组成的娃娃部队。这支部队在第五次反"围剿"战斗和长征过程中，及后来的革命工作中都做出了巨大贡献，很多少年英雄后来成长为新中国的一代将才……。An affluent medical professor, Komiya, and his bossy wife, Tokio, are to look after Setsuko, their high-spirited niece from Osaka. Setsuko is a liberated woman who does what she wants, including smoking, even though she is a minor.
