This short journey through Rishikesh, Bikaner and Gangtok with the ups and downs, the missed trains and taxi rides, the heartbreak and the mending of old friendships, the quarrels and self-discovery, sweeps Jaya and Yogi away, and indeed us...。偏僻的半山村住着九岁的丁保健和他多病的母亲。一天，保健的母亲死了，村长决定让保健吃百家饭。不久村长被告知保健外出打工的父亲死于艾滋病，并要求他保密。一次记者的采访捅出了保健的病情，村民拒绝保健和他们的孩子一起上学。上级领导要来检查工作，为了应付检查，村长找到村里的闲人老赵先给保健代几天课。谁知领导不来了，可这仅有一老一少的两个人的教室却没有停课……。
